Golden Lloydiella is a very hardy stem plant that has golden-green leaves and is perfect for low-tech setups!

Golden Lloydiella (Lysimachia nummularia “Aura”) is a very hardy, attractive stem plant with golden-green leaves. It can thrive in low-tech setups as long as it has moderate to (preferably) high lighting. As it matures, itcan grow to an impressive height that is very suitable for the background of the aquarium. There are many variants of this species, and the golden/aura variant is known for its lvibrant coloration. While Golden Lloydiella naturally grows emersed, it is very adaptable to long-term submersed conditions. In addition to being an excellent aquarium plant, it is also ideal for paludariums and terrariums.

Golden Lloydiella is an easy plant to maintain. It does not require CO2 supplementation, though it will certainly benefit from it. It will look its best under moderate to high lighting and will be sturdiest under high lighting. Due to the thin texture of its leaves, Golden Lloydiella is not suitable for aquariums with destructive animals such as crayfish, large cichlids, or goldfish.

Like most plants, Golden Lloydiella will benefit from supplementation such as Seachem Flourish, Flourish Excel, nitrogen, and other plant supplements. It actually requires a relatively high level of nutrients and will begin to yellow if it is undernourished. However, it is a rather resilient plant and its high nutrient consumption will contribute greatly to limiting algae growth.

Special Notes:

  • Bright golden-green coloration
  • Prolific growth that is ideal for the aquarium background
  • Very easy to propagate
  • Provides a great deal of cover for animal fry
  • Very hardy and durable in a well-lit, nutrient-rich aquarium

Pictures are not the actual plants you will receive, but a sample representation.
Most aquarium plants can grow both in and out of the water. When purchased, most of these plants will have solid leaves and a firm thick appearance. When planted under water, an amazing change takes place: the leaves grow much tender and laced with beautiful coloration.
Proper lighting, substrate, temperature, and healthy water conditions are essential for aquarium plants to yield the best results. The deeper the tank, the stronger the lighting system needed. And with good light and proper water conditions these plants will make your aquarium a beautiful aquatic garden.
